Really great board all around. You get a unique, exciting feel even on the groomers. Phenomenal pop with definitely a surfy vibe. The bigger frame on the regular gives you a ton a stability while not feeling too big or overpowering. The catch on icy conditions is spot on too, minimal release when checking your speed aggressively. I hit Okemo in New England the most and this board covers those variable conditions well. Haven't been fortunate enough to hit a ton of power on it, but what I was able to hit on 2 powder days last year showed the board's strength well On a trip to CO and another Pow day in New England.
You float right on top with no muscle burn on the back leg. I switched up the bindings way back one day too, man I can only imagine how dope that would be on a 2ft powder day staring down an open bowl. I hired boards and borrowed boards and decided to lay down my hard earned cash on the sickest board for me in the universe.
I made a chart of all the measurements of the Mervin boards and came up with the BRD. In 25cm of heavy Aussie pow, 10 cm more the next night and then three bluebird days, I was in heaven.
I was standing up in toeside carves like I was on a race board. Slashing and carving on sidecountry changed my whole plan for Japan. I had it set back all the way, like the 4 bolts occupying the last 2 rows of holes in the board with the very last 2 rows available on the biding and it still didn't feel super floaty. I admit this is really nit picky stuff, I have rode it many vertical feet in the pow at resorts and its been a peach.
Its only the really deep stuff that I feel the board sinks too much. It's a tall order to make a board perform well in absolutely every type of snow condition. Really, if you are getting alot of pow days in, you have to look into a powder specific board.
I got to ride a Burton Fish on the hell trip and the experience was eye opening to powder specific boards. The float is simply amazing. It feels a little like riding a wakeboard or short surf board but with alot less effort. Makes the old back leg alot less on fire. Hope this helps. I would buy it again given the chance. I also own the version of the TRS, which I never totally got along with. The change in to the XC2 profile corrects any issues I had with the C2 version. The board is more stable end to end, but the higher rocker between the feet keeps it just as playful as before.

I have been on a skate banana for the last few seasons, wanted to make a switch to a more all mountain board. This board filled the need Notably stiffer then the banana, much less flat foot high speed wobbles.
